DECIDUOUS. A beautiful shrub with a handsome, horizontal branch structure. In Spring the branches are laden with masses of flowers that look like a layer of snow. Viburnum 'Mariesii' has white flowers that are 10cm across. Has distinctly veined, dark green leaves which become red-purple in Autumn. Viburnums will grow in moderately fertile, to humus rich, moist soils and like good drainage. Part shade to full sun position. Prune out the odd vertical branching after the flowers have finished.
