EVERGREEN. Has fern like foliage with a wide canopy and young branches are generally weeping. The long compound leaves emit a peppery fragrance when broken. Chains of cream flowers in Summer followed by Peppercorns, which turn pink in Autumn. By Winter they are ready for picking and drying. Its piquant fruits are sometimes used in beverages and medicines because of their hot taste and aroma, though the plant is unrelated to true black pepper. Mature height to 15m, width 8m.
